Can anyone send me the REXX code to rename list of datasets at a time?
I have 100 datasets starts with ABC.DEF.* and i need to remove HLQ ABC for all the datasets, Need to add GHI as second qualifier. Finally i should get the filenames like eg:DEF.GHI.* |

What have you written so far which is causing the problems.
I know for a fact that I have posted code on here that uses DFdss to copy datasets to a new name, so if you find that then you will have 70% of your code already. |

One would think that, as you are an employee of a major outsourcing and supplemental staff firm, pretending that Rexx is among your skills, you would know how to do this.
expat has graciously offered to undertake your pathetic little task for a mere 750 Euro/day. Whilst I won't try to snatch the bread from his mouth, I'll bid Rs. 50,000 flat fee to fulfill the requiements as you have stated them if you and he don't come to agreement.
Or, you could look at this thread, which your long and careful search apparently utterly failed to find. |

I now bid a flat fee of 250 euro to point the OP to the exact code I have posted on this very forum and will fulfill his requirement using a Dfdss step to follow the REXX code.
Assumes that DFSORT is installed rather than any other sort product
However, the OP would have to make one minor change to perform a rename rather than the coded copy to new name.
Maybe another 200 euro to include that change |
