Hi all,
Other technologies like .net, java, web designing and mobile game developing etc..... they are earning more money nearly double and triple compared to mainframe (even with 2 years thier ctc is more than 6lac) ......
What it means mainframe won't have that much scope ah?
Or else suggest me where we can earn more with mainframe |

Hi VGK,
Please be assured that in mainframes also, you can get comparable packages which in your case would be 6 Lacs with 2 years of experience, if not more.
Have a firm understanding of the concepts & be ready to jump on the right wagon at the right time.
Hope it helps!! |

I am not sure as to how much do these companies pay but, yes, it is very much possible to earn more than 6 Lacs also with 2 years of experience. Sorry, but, I can't take any particular company's name on a public forum like this. You might have to change your location to look for better opportunites. |

What you MIGHT be seeing is the effect of the type of work being done.
A lot of the mainframe work we see being outsourced is general maintenance of older systems. There are not a lot of new systems being written on outsourcing contracts that do the work over there.
On the other hand, the Java type work IS being outsourced, so there is design and development, which pulls in more money.
You might want to look for mainframe DEVELOPMENT work, where you would be helping actually design and code and test new systems. You might even consider doing the Java work in those areas first, then transferring your analysis skills to the mainframe arena. |

Or, as I say, "Software tools are programs designed by geniuses to be used by idiots" |
