HI,
Some of our jobs runs once in 15 days. Due to this gap, some of the datasets get expired/migrated (even though we have specified RETPD more than 15 days). We have identified most of them and created a recovery job, but still some of the job abends with JCL errors.
Sometimes we are not able to recover the datasets. We have to depend on the storage management team and it will take one day for them to recover the file. We want to remove this dependency. Can any body suggest any way so that the datasets wont get expired and we dont have to depend on storage management.
Thanks in advance |

wiser to talk to the storage people on how to prevent such problems
rather than asking how to circumvent Your organization practices
and ...
any reason for anybody on the forum to help You circumvent them ? |

If you ignore Enrico's advice and continue, be prepared for the consequences. Most sites consider attempts to evade existing procedures and processes as hostile, and the perpetrator usually faces management action up to and including termination for attempting to do what you want to do. |
