Hi,
I am trying to NDM IAM files. It is not transferring the files properly. Do I need to add any specific command in NDM card?
Thanks,
Sekar |

Not sure this is the best forum for the question, I'm sure it will be moved.
No point just saying it is not working, tells us nothing.
Can you post you control statements/JCL, error messages and any other information you feel might be useful? |

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Do NOT post "it didn't work". This is a complete waste of everyone's time. We kinda figured that it wasn't working, but that info while true is worthless.
As requested, you need to show what you tried and what happened fom someone to be able to help.
Suggest you create qsam data from the iam files, transmit that, and then load it back into iam at the target. |

When doing an NDM of IAM file, if the destination file does not exist on the other side , then it creates a new one.
But the new file is a VSAM and not IAM.
Do you have any solutions for this one?
Let me know if you need more details. |

I suspect that, after 4 years, a solution has been found. |

You can DUMP the IAM file with DFDSS (if it has AIX's etc specify the SPHERE keyword on the DUMP), then NDM the DUMP file to target and then DFDSS RESTORE it from the DUMP, at which point you optionally rename it as well .
Depending on IAM levels you sometimes have to do a DEFINE RECATALOG afterwards to update the internal volser references in IAM |
