I have 2 PS files -
Input file - length 20 bytes
Output file - length 50 bytes
My task is -
1)to move the first 10 bytes from the input file to the output file at the first 10 bytes
2)on the 15th byte of the output file write 'AZ' - this is a fixed value
3)to move the first 17 to 20 bytes from the input file to the output file at position 25-28 of the output file. |

Just build the records as per your requirement

If you're not familiar with DFSORT and DFSORT's ICETOOL, I'd suggest reading through "z/OS DFSORT: Getting Started". It's an excellent tutorial, with lots of examples, that will show you how to use DFSORT, DFSORT's ICETOOL and DFSORT Symbols. You can access it online, along with all of the other DFSORT books, from:
