Hi,
I have a question regarding SYSMAP dataset in the load job. Can you please help me to clarify this.
In production environment we have DB2 version 8. We have the DB2 load(DB2 LOAD Utility) jobs running in production and they do not have SYSMAP DD name defined in JCL. (Job has DD names SYSREC,SYSDISC,SYSERR). But the jobs are completing successfully.
But in test we have DB2 version 10 installed. And the same load job failing with message
"DSNU047I 145 01:46:53.89 DSNURELD - A REQUIRED DD CARD OR TEMPLATE IS MISSING. NAME=SYSMAP".
Is it mandatory to define SYSMAP DD name in the DB2 version 10?. Or Since in production there were no error/discard occured and hence its not failing?.
Since in the test environment we have already using DB2 version 10, I am not able to test this myself.
Regards,
Chandra |

Hi,
I had tried to simulate the above case in test and job went fine.
However today we had first production run for DB V10, and the job failed due to SYSMAP error. We had quickly added SYSMAP DD name, and job ran fine.
But, there was no duplicate records in the input file. There were no records written into SYSDISC or SYSERR file.
Can you help me to understand if there are any ways to figure out what caused the error?
Regards,

Chandra,
Does one or more tables are being loaded with the same load card which have unique indexes?
Did you mentioned ENFORCE CONSTRAINTS in the load card?
In any of the above cases is true, SYSMAP ddname is required.
HTH !!
Thanks,
Akhil |

Hi Akhil,
There was no ENFORCE CONSTRAINTS in the load card.
And there are other tables which had unique indexes loaded successfully with out SYSMAP. But only one table got this error.
Since there were no discards and error records I was not able to debug the problem.

Chandra,
Can you post your load card and the ddnames used other than STEPLIB, SYSRECxx SYSIN into the forum. I might help to identify the issue here.
Thanks,
Akhil |
