hi,

Please allow me to ask a very low-level question.
I've never issued console commands before, can you please tell me where to issue these console commands?

I can only find a relavent redbook named "OS390 JES commands" , I wonder if "console commands" and "JES commands" are referring to the same concept? Or, if there is console command reference?

Thanks for your kind reply in advance.

It would probably be best to go to the IBM website and look for the proper documents for your z/OS level. I came across these, for example:

SA22-7627-24 z/OS V1R12.0 MVS System Commands
SA22-7526-11 z/OS V1R12.0 JES2 Commands
SA22-7540-10 z/OS V1R12.0 JES3 Commands

And, usually you issue system commands on a system console.

Hello,

Quote:
As described in the z/OS Concepts and Planning Guide, commands can be issued from: The z/OS console or equivalent

Both JES commands and z/os commands provide a way for the "operator" to communicate with the system. They are not the same commands.
