Hi All,
i have a requirement to post files from mainframe to a server. The path for the target folder on the server is more than 80 characters.
Tried different things for continuing the path in new line( '-' as continuation character, no continuation character, '+', 'X' etc), but not able to XCOM the file.
Please help.
Thanks

Don't know anything about the product, but why is that a problem? |

What did the manual tell you about continuation? |

i searched the manuals and documentations on XCOM, it says each line in sysin of a XCOM step in JCl should start with a parameter, so it's not possible to have a path name spanning two lines.
But i got the solution to my problem i.e. the limit to the length of sysin is 256 which is sufficient for my requirement(i thought it was 72 as for JCL).
Thanks anyways. |

For your personal knowledge, instream sysin data (i.e. //SYSIN DD *) can be coded up to 254 bytes in length. From a dataset, it can be anything the program supports. |
