Hi all,
1. What does it meant by specifying BLKSIZE=0 in DCB parameter?
2. How do we define parameters to be passed to a PROC ?
Thanks in advance |

I guess whenever we are not confident about Block size we use BLKSIZE=0 in DCB parameter.

BLKSIZE=0 tells the system to calculate the optimal blksize for the d/s. |

Hi frnd,
BLKSIZE >>>Specifies the maximum length, in bytes, of a block.
The number of bytes that you specify for BLKSIZE depends on the device type and the record format for the data set. The maximum is 32760 for DASD datasets and 2,147,483,648 for tape
If you do not code BLKSIZE, the system can, under certain conditions, determine an optimum block size
and regarding passing parameters only v can pass the symbolic parameters to both the instream and catalog parameters.. |
