I like to have the IBM manuals in pdf format stored on my hard drive. It is faster to read then using the web. Does anyone know where I can find pdf manuals for CICS v3r1? I found them for v2r3. Is IBM no longer providing pdf versions of the manuals?

Enrico, why is it that you and or me and probably some other endowed people can find those things so easy?

because we have the strange skill of seeing the important info at a glance:D

for example from here
Code:
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/bkserv/index.html

it is not difficult to spot that

z/OS platform publications
z/OS Parallel Sysplex
z/OS software products Book | PDF <== <==

a couple of clicks and ... voilĂ

I did look for manuals and I found the below bookshelf
CICS v3r1

Usually the IBM bookshelf also includes the pdf manuals but for cics v3r1 it did not. For CICS v2r3 it has it
CICS v2r3

I have bookmarked the new location so I can find it easy next time. thanks again.

Hi Guys,

When one has used a "thing" several thousand times, it is easier than when one is trying to find "stuff" for the first time.

I just wonder how many tera-bytes of documentation is available on the many IBM sites. And how many different ways to "get to a thing".

Actually, it did. If you would have actually OPENED, for example, the Application Programming Reference, listed in the V3R1 Link you posted, instead of relying solely on the symbols shown in the book LIST,
you would have seen the download PDF symbol right next to the download BOOK symbol - meaning that you could have downloaded the book in PDF format.

The symbol is there but it is not active. When I put my mouse pointer over it then it shows a message "no PDF". Clicking on it does nothing.

Mea culpa. You are correct. I was gullible enough to believe that if the symbol was there, it was available. Especially since the actual document number, SC34-6434-06, was identical to the one that was listed on the PDF document list. Live and learn.
