Hi ,
When ever I am trying to save a production program as Member in my AWS lib , it shows "Library line limit Exceeded" , Hence I have to delete some members to save the new member . Could I Save the new member and still have the previous members retained ?
Please help me .

"Library line limit Exceeded" |
why not read the ROSCOE manual and find out Yourself ?
the message seems very clear...
You overflowed/trying to overflow the space for Your personal storage.
deleting something makes room for something else, and so on and so on
also why not get in touch with Your suppor to have Your personal space enlarged?

When your CA-ROSCOE library account was set up, someone -- AT YOUR SITE -- set the line limit for it, based upon the site policiies for library size. Only someone AT YOUR SITE with access to UPSMAINT can change the library line limit. If this is a problem for you, the best approach would be to have your manager put in a request to increase your library line limit. Otherwise, I know of no way to that you could save the produciton member other than deleting enough from your library to allow the save to occur. |

Hello,
Most often the intent of the people who set up your ROSCOE account was/is for you to keep only active "things" in your ROSCOE library. Things no longer active are intended to be stored in Librarian or somewhere similar. . .
Experience has shown that many developers will keep all sorts of junk in their ROSCOE if there is no limit.
How many lines are you permitted? If the number is only 5-10 thousand, it should probably be increased. |

Thanks for the reply ! I spoke to my support and it seems they are not very happy with the idea of increasing my Libr . I am new to ROSCOE environment and it feels very irritating to see the "lib line exceeded " every time . I was wondering how other programmers tackle this issue . is there any tool which can automatically create space by moving the older members from my libr to a dataset ?
please suggest .

Which is rather normal. Why should your limit be increased and others not. As i mentioned, many (most) will keep all kinds of things that are not currently needed and simply waste space.
For whatever reason, you didn't answer my earlier question - how many lines is the max?
Suggest you talk with some co-workers and the support people again and learn how others deal with this in your environment. |

Delete the SAVAWSnn members as soon as possible. One is created each time you have something in the AWS and don't save it before getting out of ROSCOE (or being timed out).
Delete the ZZZZxxxx members as soon as possible. They contain messages from the system and so forth.
Our site requires a manager's request and a good reason to increase the library line limit -- but we have increased some when there was a solid reason to. |
