How to comment control card statement in jcl?

Can you help me on how to comment control card statement in jcl?

I am using IDCAMS utility. I want to comment DELETE FILE1. Please help me.

If a statement is split up into multiple lines as shown below, how can we comment?

DELETE -
FILE1 -
PURGE

Please help me.

ijay784: there is a link to manuals at the top of the page. Click on it, find the VSAM Services for DFSMS manual, open it, and READ THE FREAKING MANUAL until your question is answered. I guess that the TS started reading the "About this document" chapter, and then lost it totally.
