Hi all,
One more for all the mainframe gurus.
Every once in a while we stumble upon something we didn't know for a long time.

Which was your Wow...I Didn't know that!!! moment.

Note : Make sure that you are not talking about custom rexx/clist.

Prasad.

I can recall when I first saw the potential problems that could arise with the COBOL compile option NUMPROC(PFD), introduced with VS/COBOL II, especially when using it against data from an outside source.

The effects on addressing packed-decimal data are very subtle and its use must be 100% justified. Otherwise, the potential pitfalls can burn you.

IMHO, using the default NOPFD outweighs PFD.

Sometimes, you learn the hard way as we all have the opportunity to fail.... icon_eek.gif

When a person reads a manual before asking me about something.

The rare occasion that Management a) listen b) understand c) make a decision based on merit rather than for their short term benefit.

Off-host/PC environments can work for a day without crashing

Security say 'yes'
