Hi all
This is related to mainframe security. As we all know that at any point of time as per the requirement we can switch from primary racf db to secondary(back up) database as one will be replica of the other at all times
I want to know if any batch job or utility runs all time in the back ground that updates the secondary database or is the RACF database designed in such a way that maintains a copy of itself always
Or is it achieved by any Installation Exits?
Can anyone help me in this? |

This is handled via a RACF option -- full duplication, partial duplication, or no duplication. The RACF started task itself probably controls the copying -- but that's not something I have to know so I've never looked into it. |

The ICHRDSNT table specifies whether the backup is active and whether statistics are recorded in the backups. Assuming the backup is active, profile updates are made to it automatically at the same time the primary database is updated. To see if the backup is active, issue the TSO command RVARY LIST. See the RACF Systems Programmer Guide manual for details about the table. |
