Hello everyone.

My Shop does not have xpeditor, I heard COBTEST is a freeware and can be used to debug? if so, could someone please provide link or manual for same?

How can I check if COBTEST is available on my mainframe?

Many Thanks & Regards.

Talk to your site support group. They would know what software is installed at your site, and they would be the ones to install COBTEST if the decision is made to install it.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your reply,
Actually I have never used COBTEST and not aware about it's features,
is it as good as xpeditor? then may be I can ask my manager to make a formal request to admin.

Do you think that would work - asking someone in Forum and then making up your mind to ask the Manager? Well, here is a link though - it might interest you: publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wdzinfo/v7r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.ent.cbl.zos.doc/topics/igym1apf.htm

Let us think about this...

Xpediter costs money (lots of it) and you say COBTEST is free (I do not know about that), anyway, if everyone could get cobtest for free, why would they buy xpediter?

I have used both and xpediter is much better.

I have also used IBM's Debug Tool. It is like COBTEST on lipstick.
Still not as good as xpediter, but costs alot less (not free), and gets the job done.
