How to get the system date in cobol program

hey,

i saw in one program to retrive the system date as below mentioned. Can any one can help me what it is actually doing.


Accept ws-date from Date.

why not do a bit of searching Yourself
for these questions the best help can be found in the manuals

there is a link to the manuals at the top of the page

the manuals describe the "ACCEPT .... FROM DATE"
reading the intrinsic functions part will certainly give better alternatives

or google with "COBOL ACCEPT FROM DATE"
