I'm not sure what are you asking? Do you understand what a GSAM file is?
There is nothing great with respect to GSAM files as they too are QSAM (flat) files. It's a batch processing access method for IMS that allows sequential files to be treated as IMS databases. So it all depends on the application whether you need to use the file as QSAM or GSAM - that means, GSAM itself is essentially a(n) QSAM file so your question does not stand on a practical ground, to start with! |

GSAM is not a dataset organization...
is the <access method> used by IMS to access plain old PS datasets ( with some frills )
any tool capable of copying from PS to PS will do |

Hello ... Thanks for the info...
I am having a flat file which is nothing but database dump. I need to pass IMS calls to this file. What all changes does it require to access sequentially.?? |

If I've to make an intelligent guess, bold text in above quote, probably, implies that you want to "read through" that file using IMS (so far programming language is unkown) interface? |
