Any one heard about mainframe scripting? what will be in these scripts. I can see these words in some job openings. Please can some one help what it means and reference books or sites for information. Is it related to FTP scripts like wrting FTP commands in JCL. Please pass me some information.
Your help is very much appreciated and thanks to all the topics, they are so helpful.

Possibly.
You (or someone) needs to clarify "mainframe scripting". . . It could have different meanings for different situations.
Some intrepretations include rexx, clist, unix mainframe scripts, and even jcl. I've seen "scripting" used/mis-used for other things also. . .
Posted positions should say more than "mainframe scripting". From the rest of the requirements you should be able to determine what is meant by scripting for that job post. |

Most of the time (90%) Jobs related to "Mainframe Scripting", in India, refer to "Mainframe Testing" Jobs, though it might mean totally different unless clarified. |
