Hi All,
Some sequence number is added in a dataset (at the end) by using Icetool.
Please see the data below:
599 010810 10000 000000001
1600 020810 1600 000000002
100 032610 4020 000000003
Now , i want to remove the last column ... can anyone help me out , how to accomplish this task |

Terminology is critical in IT. You need to be aware that column for a data set refers to one byte -- only in a data base (which is NOT a data set) does "column" refer to more than one byte of data. So you are asking for a way to remove the 1, 2, 3, ... but leave the remaining bytes of the sequence number. |

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Suggest you post the output you want from the sample input.
Also, mention the recfm and lrel of the files. Post any "rules" for getting form the input to the ouput. |

are the sequence numbers used by any process after the icetool step?
if not, change the original icetool step to drop the sequence number on output.
if that is the case, providing the control cards of the icetool step would enable someone to provide you with the additional control cards to drop the sequence number. |
