Hi,
Is there any change in compilation process in CICS V3.2 compare to CICS V2.2?
Some on at my client side say that We don't need to run the Translate step in CICS 3.2 verion.
Is it so? or we still need to follow the same steps? Like translate, Compile & Link?
Pleass uggest.
Thanks & Regards,

You can use the same steps. However, there is now a CICS option in COBOL to allow EXEC CICS commands to be translated as part of the compile process (I don't remember how far back it goes, but my 3.4 COBOL manual has the option). If you use the CICS option, the translate step is no longer required. The option is not specific to the CICS release level but the COBOL compiler. |

For info, there is also an option in PL/1 to invoke the integrated translator.
