how to set the cursor position

I am trying to handel the cursor position in bms by moving -1 to the fieldL.
But it is not working in my case.

Please suggest.

Is the map defined as INOUT?

Are you using the CURSOR option of the SEND MAP?
The CURSOR option on the SEND MAP command allows you to override this specification, if necessary, when the map is displayed. If you specify CURSOR(value), BMS places the cursor in that absolute position on the screen....Specifying CURSOR without a value signals BMS that you want "symbolic cursor positioning".

Are you moving -1 to the attribute byte or length field?
