Is it possible to write a query such that it can access a table on the dev LPar and another table on production lpar

Ex:
select a.* from dbdev.emp, dbprod.emp

ofcourse where dbprod is on a different lpar. Any solution close to this is also welcome.

Usually (probably the shops I'd been to) uses the same HLQ(owner) for the table-names in different LPARs, so what you asked won't be possible.

On the other hand, if owner-name is different, you must have the alias of the "tables in production LPAR" in test LPAR. IF that is true, production owner-name will not be recognized in test-region and even if that could happen it would involve your site-policies - so best bet would be to get in touch with your site-support people, have you contacted them - what do they say?

Other question is - what is the need for such a query?
