Hi,
I know this might be a silly question.
For one of the documentation purposes here, the question asked is "How to get the list of files used". If it is online i can query with CEMT, if it is batch - how do I do it?
And we have ENDEVOR here, how to get files used only in system/subsystem which I need?
Thanks

DCOLLECT can get you data on all files, batch or online.
And you need to contact your site support group to find out which files are used by Endevor at your site. |

There is a link to the manuals at the top of this page. Click on it, find the VSAM Services for DF/SMS manual (misnamed -- it actually is DFSMS AMS for Catalogs) and read chapter 11 on DCOLLECT. After that you may need to read Appendix F on interpreting DCOLLECT output. |

There is a serach facility inthis Forum try to search word "DCOLLECT" there. Other suggestion is google.
Once you try both the options at least, tell us what you've done - Robert, for one, would be happy to help further, for sure.
PS. Sorry Robert, in flow-of-emotions I used your name with a bit of authority... |

Why is Endevor mentioned?
How is a system/subsystem identified? If this is accomplished by dataset naming conventions, it may be trivial to find the dataset names. If not controlled by naming conventions, it may not be possible looking at dataset info only. . . |
