Can anyone tell me what is the full form of Z/OS?
I heard it is Zero-th shutdown operation system as it can run forever with out shuting down because in OS/390 this facility was not there..is it correct? pls correct me if im wrong.

os/390 was the name chosen by IBM for the operating system of the s390 series machines
along the same logic z/os is the operating system for the z-series machines
z/os sounds better than os/z
that' all... no reason to tweak the neurons to look for something that is not there |
