Hi,
I want to extract the root segment and all its child segments thru jcl or FILE-AID for IMS. Both these segments have key fields.
Actually, we can use only certain PSBs in production enviroment to browse/edit and those PSB do not contain this DBD containing the above segments. But we can use other PSBs in a batch job for extracting/updating etc.
If somebody has used FILE-AID for IMS for creating the segment/field selection criteria and using selection criteria, or know how to extract segments using batch or fileaid, please assist.
Thanks,
Ajay |

Created the selection criteria and was able to extract (unload) the segments to a sequential file thru the batch job created by the EXTRACT option in file-aid/IMS.
As mentioned in my previous post, we are permitted only selected PSB in production environment. So it works when i use those PSBs in this batch job. However, when I use the psbs which we are not authorised in Production environment, it seems like the IXPDTFDV (dbextrct) program is flagging it as invalid PSB.
//DBEXTRCT EXEC PGM=IXPDTFDV,PARM=......
In this parm parameter, I am specifying PSB whose access we have in test but not in prod, and "IMS System" as our production system S2P2.
but i am getting error:
E740 invalid parameter S2P2 passed to the pgm
But this is working if i use the psb which we are authorised in production.
Thank you,
Ajay |

One more time - always use your very own PSB. Can you image copy the production database into the test environment and run it as test? |
