Meaning of RECFM=FS

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if we write RECFM=FS in DCB parameter of JCL,what does it exactly means.

FS means Fixed Spanned that i know,but what exactly spanned records mean?

I would read the JCL reference manual if I were you

"S" is spanned only for variable. Go back and read what "S" means with fixed length records. Then come back here with questions.
