I working on CDB tables, the tables have been updated. Now one needs to do a remote bind of spufi(as we want to access through spufi and not through program). Now I want to ask, if we do bind with action(replace), what effect it will cast on the exisiting member DSNESM68(for spufi access), as the collection and plan names are standard, and therefore same for source and target Lpars?
I would also like to know the situations when we keep type(in sysibm.usernames) as I (i.e. inbound). |

why the need to rebind spufi ??? ( or any other db2 utility )
spufi, dsntep.. use dynamic sql so there is no need to rebind them once the db2 customization process has been completed |

You have two options....
a- review your understanding of DB2 terminology
b - reword the quoted sentence.. it really does not make any sense...
communication database ... what the **** You mean
bind to establish the connection. ... it' s a TCP/IP socket related term
nothing of this is related to the BIND process for an application

Who/what established this requirement?
There may be something that needs to be done - but until proper terminology is used all anyone can do is guess . . .
Or rant. . . |

key of package is LOCATION.collid,packagename,contoken
As you can see in the article LOCATION is SAMPLE for your remote connection, it should be blank for your local Collection.
So no problem should arise. |
