Hi all,
I want to open the file defined in undefined format in view mode.
I think if we set IS_VIEW_SUPPORTED to YES it is possible.
Can you please suggest how to set IS_VIEW_SUPPORTED to YES
and process the file and then set back IS_VIEW_SUPPORTED to NO.
Thanks,

I'm not sure that IS_VIEW_SUPPORTED is your answer. However, it is part of the ISPF Configuration Table and should not be altered "on the flow"...

What do you want to do with VIEW? If you want to see the content of a load module, BROWSE will allow this. . . |

And which manual did tell you that this is possible?
U-format datasets cannot be edited or viewed with standard ISPF tools and changing any ISPF configuration table entries in an attempt to do so is useless. |

I Want to use ISPF Find macro to find a hexadecimal string in a dataset with U format using rexx.
Using Browse we cant use the macros.. and since U format file always open in browse mode , i am not able to use macro.
Can you pls suggest a better solution to find a hexadecimal string in a dataset defined with U format. |

Whats wrong with f x'deadbeef'?
or
give the command SRCHFOR in a memberlist and specify the string as x'deadbeef'
or
use 3.14 Search-For or 3.15 Search-ForE.
Jeez... |
