Hi,
I have a table with 4 which recently updated the table with 5 columns..now I need to test the table...I unloaded the table data(which contains only 4 columns information) from production..if I try to load the data in development table(which is modified with 5 columns) with that file will the job be successful...?
Asked me in interview question...

A whole lot of things depends for you to answer this question
1) Is new column in DEV is nullabe field
2) How is your insert query used ..

| we run the loading of the table using JCL...I dont get u why u r talking abt Insert command...I have a file with 4 colums...and I am tring to load to a table of 5 columns...assume that 5th column is not null..then if I try to load what would happen... |

Hello Chennai,
Is 5th column is defined as nOt null with default value?If yes it will contain default value for all the existing rows. |
