Hi All,
while I am trying to insert records in the main DB, I am getting an error for the Index DB. Below is the message.

UNABLE TO OPEN DATA SET WITH DDNAME MCDSCDX FOR REASON I,01

Could anyone kindly let me know the possible reason behind this.what does FOR REASON I,01 explain?

Thanks a lot in advance.

This appears to be very straightforward. The error received just means that the IMS database is already open. This is either a DBCTL or DBDC environment and the database was created so that the online system holds it exclusively. It is not always possible to use IMS-DLI while the online system is running – it depends on the site standards and may be this site, they don't have (actually, don’t appear to have) the share options required to make this work. In this case they should use the other variants of the IMS driver – either IMS-DBDC or IMS-DBCTL.

Suggest, you get in contact with your DBA. This issue is kinda out of scope of Forum.
