Issue while FTPing from Windows to Mainframe

Hi,

I am trying to FTP a TXT file from Windows to mainframes.
The concern is: the TXT file contains some non-english characters (spanish, portugese, german characters) and they are not reflected in the mainframe file. I have even tried to send the file in ASCII as well as BINARY.
When i send the file thru BINARY mode, I am getting complete junk characters in mainframe file.
When I try to send it thru ASCII mode, I am getting characters but not the special characters mentioned above.

Can anyone please guide me as to how to how will I get those special characters in the mainframe file too.

a simple but useless answer would be ....
read the FTP manuals and learn about different languages / codepages support
( support for different languages encoding/translation schemes )

but it would be a useless effort if the rest of the environment and the applications are not setup to manage different languages / codepages

the best thing to do is to ask Your support
