hai. check pending status with respect to my table resembles that the loading of the table to a ps file is in pending status due to the check pending of the primary keys.

corrections welcomed..........

Hi Sushil,

The following are the answers:

1. The calling Program(with Link Option) expects control to be returned to
it. So this requires more overhead, and performance is relatively poor in
comparison to XCTL command.

2. The Question is not Clear to me.

3. Check Pending: It can be encountered in many ways.

Ex: A table is created and data is loaded. Now if you want to add a
constraint. But suppose, in the table there are few rows which doesn't
adhere to the new-constarint, in that case "Check Pending occurs". In that
situation,

a) Cancel the check Pending Status, using IBM Utility and then delete the
rows that are not adhering to constraint and then add constraint. (This is
not advisable).

i dont know, how it is dealt in real time.

Thanks And Regards

1. when we call a program with link the called program will be stored in main memory and expects control to be returned back to the calling program and the instructions after link will be executed. So this requires more main memory and performance is relatively poor in
comparison to XCTL command.
in db2 programs if there no syncpoint before link command and the called program has exec-sql statements and its own plan then this can result in the called program refering to the plan of calling program.
