1) what are all the databases that can be used in Mainframes, other than DB2, IMS and ADABAS?
2) Is it not possible to use the windows based databases in Mainframes? |

There are probably dozens of databases (depending on how precisely that term is defined) in use on mainframes. It would take a lot of time to come up with a list, and probably a few weeks to ensure it is a comprehensive list.
Windows has a different architecture, disk structure, file structure, and collating sequence. Why on earth would you even think using Windows based databases on a mainframe would be possible? There are databases -- such as DB2 and Oracle -- that have mainframe and Windows functionality but the products are not identical on the different platforms. |
