hi,
we use the management class (MGMTCLAS = DEFAULT) parameter in the JCL while the new data set is created. Is there any way to override the internal parameters of the MGMTCLAS like EXPIRE DAYS NON-USAGE, PARTIAL RELEASE etc. Or is it possible to give the user defined MGMTCLAS.
Which is the optimized MGMTCLAS and also its optimized internal Parameter values so that the storage allocated for the particular dataset is optimized.
Thanks,
Hari |

the SMS class definitions are site dependent,
defined thru the ISMF administrative dialogs
and enforced thru the ACS routines
the info You ask for is known only to Your storage support group

If your storage management group have half a brain then the answer is NO
Management classes are designed to implement the site storage strategy and should not any one to over ride this criteria. |
