first of all You are not using FTP but You are trying to use the TSO/3270 file transfer program
IND$FILE is the command that gets invoked on the MF side to provide such a facility
the message means just that, IND$FILE was not found
nothing we can do, speak to Your support |

Hello,
If this is not yet working, suggest you try ftp (if your mainframe is setup as an ftp server). Check with your support or network people. |

Please check from which screen you are doing the transfer.
The error mentioned by you comes when you do the mainframe provided from the wrong screen.
Go to ISPF 6 option and then try to do file transfer.
Check if it works. |

Sushil would not get the message if the command was not being issued correctly so it isn't a problem with which screen it is run from. The IND$FILE command may not be installed or the wrong logon proc is in use or allocations have changed since logging on or it is, as mentioned, a code page problem. It might be useful to try it from the TSO READY prompt before entering ISPF but only to see if something changes in the ISPF session.
As mentioned, you need to check with your support. Some sites may not install this for security or other reasons (lets please not get into whether that is just false security -- we all know about cut and paste and screen captures). |
