In JCL, perform=1 means the job will be ran under TSO/E,
perform=2 means the job will be ran under Non-TSO/E.
What is the different?
By the way, what is the exact mean about the value? I mean for perform parameter. |

AFAIK, PERFORM parameter on the JOB statement identifies the performance group number for that job. Your installation defines performance groups to determine how jobs are allowed to consume processor, storage and channel resources. You can contact your MVS System Programmer to determine which performance groups are valid for your installation. |

Performance groups are the old way to control performance. They are not used in WLM goal mode, so the PERFORM parameter (which has been retained for compatibility) is no longer relevant. You missed the key part of the manual, which I highlighted:
Quote: |
In compatibility mode, if no PERFORM parameter is specified or if the specified PERFORM number fails validity checks, the system uses an installation default specified at initialization. If the installation did not specify a default, the system uses a built-in default: |
Few sites are still running compatibility mode -- WLM has been around for a few years and does a good job of system resource management. |

I have noticed the key which was quoted by Robert.
Thanks a lot.
Let's focus on the title of this topic, what's the difference between TSO/E and Non-TSO/E?
I really feel confuse. |

If you look at IBM's documentation, you will find there no longer is a non-TSO/E. TSO/E is part of the base element of z/OS, so it is always what is shipped. |
