Hi
I have heard that SYNCBIX (SYNCSORT) helps to create alternate index of an VSAM file and also it reduces CPU% by 30% when compared to IDCAMS.
Could some one help me to get the syntax and usage of SYNCBIX |

why not look at the syncsort manuals Yourself
a quick and dirty and simple google search for "SYNCSORT SYNCBIX"
would have shown that it is a VSE feature only |

enrico,
I tried searching the document, but i couldn't able to find any thing.
While searching in NET i found
"Utility programs
Default options report (SYNCLIST).
High performance creation of VSAM alternate index files (SYNCBIX).
Multiple concurrent sorting (SSRAM).
Variable-length record analysis (SYNCHSTO). "
So could you please post the document of SYNCBIX if you have
Thanks in advacne |

the syncsort manuals are available to organizations licensed for their product
they are not available on the net
syncsort manuals are copyrighted material and as such they cannot be posted ( made publicly available ) anywhere |

k_rajen1,
If your organization is licensed to use a product, the you should be having the product manuals. If you dont have one, Ask your peers or request a manual from SyncSort website. |

What operating system are you using? If you are mvs, z_OS, etc, you cannot use SYNCBIX. . .
Any Syncsort material posted here or links to same will be deleted. Do not ask for these. . . |

Alternatively you can contact Alissa Margulies -- she is SyncSort representative on this bulletin. |

Rajendra,
SYNCBIX is shipped with SyncSort VSE. There is no equivalent in SyncSort for z/OS.
As indicated by Enrico, Dick, and Anuj, documentation is available to all licensed SyncSort customers. Manuals are also available under special agreement to consultants and developers whose services are being retained by a licensed customer of Syncsort Incorporated. If you fall into either of these categories, please feel free to contact me at alissa.margulies@syncsort.com and I would be happy to further assist you.
If you are not licensed for SyncSort VSE, but are interested in trialing the product, let me know and I can put you in touch with the appropriate department.
Regards, |
