Hello,

Doubtful. . .

You need to post something more specific. . . Which preprocessor statement(s) need clarification? What kind of multitasking question is there?

Keep in mind that urgent implies criticality and it is confusing how a couple of general questions might be urgent. If you explain the urgency that may help us be able to help you as well.

Also, keep in mind... urgent for whom? Certainly not the kind folks who donate their time and expertise free of charge on these bulletin boards.

Also, interesting that this was "urgent" but there has been no response to clarify the question(s). . . icon_confused.gif

Hi all,

If i am not wrong there are few preprocessor statements available in PL/1 language....For example

%ACTIVATE Statement
%assignment Statement
%DEACTIVATE Statement
%DECLARE Statement
%DO Statement
%END Statement
%GO TO Statement
%IF Statement
%INCLUDE Statement
%INSCAN Statement
%ITERATE Statement
%LEAVE Statement
%NOTE Statement
%null Statement
%REPLACE Statement
%SELECT Statement

My question was why we need to use these statement and prctical usage?? and what is the multitasking in PL/1???? as simple as this.

It is urgent for me... and i am posting this for the the professionals who needs help like me...

Thanks

a professional would have read the documentation -
reference manual
users guide

then ask questions about what he does not understand.

What might be the reason that people here should read the manuals instead of you doing some research?

At the top of the page is a link to "IBM Manuals". Among them are the Enterprise PL/I Language Reference and Programming Guide.

If this is urgent, suggest you quickly read the appropriate parts of those manuals and post back here with anything that is not clear. Someone will be able to clarify. . .
