Hi,

The subject needs to be easy, but the problem is as follows:

I need to compare two files. If i found same record, i need to replace few bytes with spaces and the full record should be written.

For example,

If i found two records same by the sort card (9,9,ch,a,187,54,ch,a) then i need to replace from 187 to 54 bytes with space and i need to write full record.

Please help in this and let me know if you have any queries.

Thanks,
Kira.

Kiran_65,

1. What is the LRECL and RECFM of the both files.
2. Do you have duplicates in any of the files?
3. From which file do you need to pick the full record if matched? File 1 or File2 ?
4. Post a sample input from both files and desired output
