Hi all ,

Can anybody please let me know how to redirect reports to EOS(NOT TO SYSOUT).

Also what is the significance of the "DEST" parameter in JCL?
Please refer the example below:

SYSOUT=(6,,xxx),DEST=xxx.

what does each term signify in the above statement. Can anybody pour some light on it.

JCL manual easily reached by the manuals button at the top of each page.

Read and learn.

Hi,

Expat has given you a right direction, however, I'm in a good mood today.
Quote:
DEST parameter specifies a destination for a SYSOUT data set.The destination can be a local or remote terminal, a node in the JES network, a local or remote printer or workstation, or even a TSO userid. DEST is only valid for a SYSOUT DD statement, and it has to name a valid destination that is already known to your JES.
SYSOUT seems to be pretty straight forward, please have look in manual.

Hi Anuj,

Thanks for your response. From your response I understood that DEST will route the report to a destination for example take printer.

so if we don't use this paramerter but use only :
SYSOUT=(6,,XXX),then the reports won't be printed but still the reports will be redirected to eos.Is my understanidng correct?

Please clarify.

Thanks again.

You're welcome. . . icon_smile.gif.

Please go through the link SYSOUT Parameter and explore through the Subtopics. If you still have some more to ask about - post us back, some one will be around with better suggestion/s.

Talk to the people responsible for EOS and ask them the required parameters to use EOS. This is site specific
