Hello.

We received a request to change the text at the bottom of IMS DC screen, we done the chages and complied thru SCLM(RC=0). But the changes are not reflecting in the IMS region.

(Team is new to IMS/DC)

When I spoke with onshore SME, said that do /TEST MFS.

Please advice.

Once your code is promoted to the IMS region. Give the command
Code:
/TEST MFS

in the region and then invoke your screen. This will pick up the new MFS changes.

You need to roll the region - stop and start the region assigned to that transaction.

Well, first of all get permission from your DBA group. Then make sure no one else is executing in that TEST region. The commands are
/STO REG and /STA REG

Hi,

Usually MFS changes requires one day to get reflected, because once the over night batch suit runs the load lib of latest mfs is picked and used by IMS DC.

If any other way exist I never saw.

Thanks,
Mervyn.

Hello
Could you elaborate on how to identify the region associated with that particular transaction.

Thanks

Do you have a database group? They assign the class and region.

Probably not. They assign class and region. They pick based on system and efficiency. Just ask them. Production regions are not brought up and down on request. Test regions can be, but they need to control it because you don't know who else is executing in that particular region.

Ask your DBA the schedule for bringing the regions up and down. Also, ask them when they flip the MFS libraries - that SHOULD happen when they bring the regions up and down.

Hi
The Schedule for MFS flip and IMS Region Flip is once every day after business hours. Is there any way of testing changes in MFS more than once in a day .
Do we have to wait for this process every time we wish to test the changes to MFS

Thanks

You need to ask your DBA group these questions.
