I'm new to SAS and need to learn it. Can anyone recommend a good beginners guide or training materials?

Personally, I find that Computer-Based Training (CBT) online courses are a much better way to learn instead of trying to read textbooks.

Anyway, SAS seems to recommend the book The Little SAS Book.

can any one let me know which is the best manual for learning SAS starting as a beginner.
I don't know which might be "best" but you can view/download any/all of the documentation from the SAS support site:
support.sas.com/documentation/index.html

You will want the Base SAS:
support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/base/index.html
