Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to dynamically allocate memory in a CICS program (written in COBOL)? Usage of ODO wont help. So I need to know if we can do this using pointers or sthg.

Got to know that its possible in ILE COBOL (guess its a different version fo COBOL) using some thing callled CEE APIs.

Review the GETMAIN API in the CICS Application Programming Reference.

Bill

Yes, you also mentioned modules in "CEE" (Language Environment), which I missed.

Review the Callable Service routine "CEEGTST" (Get Heap Storage) in the applicable LE Programming Reference.

Regards,

Bill
