Hi all,
I want to allocate a QSAM file(BlockSize=80,Record length=80,record
no = 10000),but it only cost 129 tracks instead of 132 tracks as below
rules:
for each block contain only 1 record,
for one track contain 76 block(=int((56664+668)/(668+80))
so for 10000 records will cost 10000/76 = 132 tracks

any helps will be appriciated!!

Hi Anuj,

My question is why it only cost 129 tracks instead of 132 tracks?

because the formula you used is wrong icon_cool.gif

look at ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?t=35906&highlight=blocks+track
for the right formula
