Hi,
I want to use matching logic with one of the keys as a working storage variable. Let me try to explain it with an example.
FILE A
fielda1
FILE B
fieldb1
fieldb2
For the first file i want to make use of one working storage variable
w-fielda1 as one of the keys(the other key is fielda1, fieldb1) in the job input statement for matching logic.
ie, the key should be fielda1, w-fielda2 -> for FILE A
fieldb2, fieldb2 -> for FILE B
Could you please tell me if this is possible in easytrieve.
Thanks! |

Have you looked into 'Synchronized File Processing' in the EZT manual? |

Yes, I saw that and i am using the same Matching logic. My concern is if we can use a working storage variable as the key for this matching since my first file does not have that field. |

Hello,
I do not believe you will be able to use "synchronized file processing" directly for your requirement.
A more traditional, coded match/merge may be what you need. |
