John,
What result are you expecting out of the comparison?
You need to provide more details. Posting more information will help others to guide you better. Sample input/output might help.
Thanks,
Arun |

Our requirent should not use Superc, We are doing testing before changes mean original program & After changes (Change program). In this process 2 file getting created BEFCHG & AFTCHG. So we need to do the compare of 2 file(BEFCHG & AFTCHG).
Both the file having same LRECL(80). In this files Timestamp aded on 50th column position. so we want to compare column position 1 to 49.
If you still want more details please let me know. |

I believe using SUPERCE, you can very well compare columns from 1 to 49. Still I am not clear what's stopping you from using that.
Thanks,
Arun |

Do you have FILEAID in your shop? If yes, you can use the FILEAID COMPARE option 10 to compare both the files. You can create a compare JCL using this option. |
