Is there any short cut key to select the "always show split line "option in the setting panel. |

you can always go assign PF2 key saying "Split line", so when ever you press F2 key it will show split line.
Is it what you are asking? Did I miss any thing |

You can assign a text split on a PF key too, it assists with editing text data (watch though it can do some odd things sometimes :TS and there is a text flow command :TF. |

Assign a PFkey to ISPFVAR SPLTLINE(ON) but if the screen is already split it won't take affect.
Why is it getting turned off to begin with? |

go to option 0
give '/' show always split line
pf3
when ever you press f2 or give command start will show split line always |
