Hello,
This is going to be hard for me to explain so please bare with me and I am not working on Mainframes, just very interested in them and reading about their functions.
Ok, A friend of mine who worked for the City as a Level 2 Operations Computer Manager took me in for a tour one night. And what I saw were numerous Windows 2000-based flat-panel LCD consoles that generated messages on an emulator, it was like a log of some sort with starting with the date/time and then like 7-character message code. Now, the one I looked at, my friend told me it was connected to the Z/VM running SUSE Linux mainframe. That to also had messages on it. Now, I've been reading about all messages online. Now my question is (since my friend moved), what type of messages should I read upon on thats generated by the Z/VM running Linux? Because theres at least all types like the MVS, TSO. VS/ESA etc... but they do not tell me or explain whether those messages are from a Mainframe running Linux or not (thats the problem)... But I dont recall on what messages were on that console generated by the Z/VM running SUSE Linux. It was like something like this: IEII878XX. But I dont remember at all.
If, someone can post a screenshot of the same console that I saw grabbing its messages from the Z/VM running Linux, than I would appreciate it. It has to be LINUX running on the Mainframe. Or also you can send them to this email address below. Please, I would appreciate the effort.
