Hi,
For editing the VSAM KSDS we can make use of FILE-AID or DITTO tool

Personally, I would REPRO to a flat file and perform the edits there and then REPRO back to the KSDS |

I tend to do things in the universally available way, by using IDCAMS and editors that are available at all sites, that way I do not become reliant on any one product that may make me look an idiot when faced with the same scenario at a site that does not have that product installed and I then can not resolve a problem.
Yes, modern software tools are great, but they also tend to minimise the learing of universal practices, which in my view make you more marketable. Once at an interview the interviwer asked why not use fileaid instead, and I replied "what if your site did not have fileaid installed". |
