You can not do it. The return code is just a value that is job specific.
Capture it from spool is about the only way that I know of.
Any particular reason for this request ? |

Lionel B. Dyck has a great little tool, SDFSEXT, a generalized SDSF batch tool to extract all or part of your sysout into a dataset that could be emailed. |
